Rubik's Cube

Okay, so i found this friend of mine can really solve the Rubik's cube, and there on i went on a mission myself to learn how to solve it.
Wait, what is "Rubik's cube"?

Rather than explaining that The Rubik's Cube is a 3-D mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik and a classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces is covered by nine stickers, among six solid colors (traditionally white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow) A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colors. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid color.
I would rather let you see the picture and know what it is...:P

So, you had the "Aha! Oh so this is it." moment.

Looking at this, now you too would want to know how to solve it.
So here i come to your rescue, there are a various things that we would need on the mission:

1. Time: About 15-25 hours of practice would be required to solve the Rubik's cube.
2. Interest : I can take horse to the pond, but can't force it to drink the water. Enough said.
3. An algorithm : You can find one here.Solving Rubik's Cube
4. Most importantly a Rubik's Cube.

P.S. - I was able to solve one-third of the cube(as per the guide) in just 3 hours of diligent practice. So, if you work at it you might be able to solve it after 12 hours of practice, even if it takes longer, once you get it it's worth all the effort.

Just for reference this is how a solved cube looks like :

There you go, happy cubing! :) :)

  1. Pointless. I can solve one face, though. I guess everyone can do that :P

  2. hahahaha, a lot of us can do that, and we do it intuitively, not logically, if we do it following a logical algorithm, we can solve all six faces, for sure :P

  3. Exactly Vishal..! what's the use of solving just one side after spending 5 or 10 mins with the cube when you can do all the 6 sides in the same time following algorithms. If you can master it you can solve the whole cube in less than 3 mins. That's the power of logic. :)Exactly Vishal..! what's the use of solving just one side after spending 5 or 10 mins with the cube when you can do all the 6 sides in the same time following algorithms.
